Privacy Policy
Effective as of August 04, 2025
BabyReco LLC ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our mobile application ("the Application").
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By accessing or using the Application, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by all terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use our Service.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time by posting updates on this page. Please check the "Effective as of" date above to determine if the Privacy Policy has been revised since your last visit.
All information collected and maintained by us is subject to the version of the Privacy Policy in effect at the time of collection. If the Privacy Policy changes in any material way, we will not use previously collected data in a manner inconsistent with the version in effect at the time of collection, without your prior consent.
Information Collection and Use
We distinguish between data that is processed locally on your device and data that is collected by us (i.e., transmitted to our servers or third-party analytics providers).
1. Data Processed Locally on Your Device
The Application is designed to help parents and caregivers better understand the possible reasons for their baby's crying. To support this functionality, we may ask you to provide certain optional information, including:
- Your baby's name
- Audio recordings of your baby's crying (captured in real time using your device's microphone)
This data is processed exclusively on your device:
- Baby name is stored locally and used only for personalization within the app interface.
- Audio recordings are analyzed in real time on your device and are neither stored nor uploaded to any server.
- We do not transmit or store this information, and it is never shared with third parties.
- You can delete it at any time through the Application or by uninstalling it.
2. Data Collected Automatically (Pseudonymized Analytics Data)
To improve the Application and understand how it is used, we automatically collect certain pseudonymized technical and behavioral information. While this information doesn't directly identify you, it may be linked to your device or an app instance identifier and thus constitutes pseudonymized personal data. This data is transmitted to and processed by us or our third-party service providers.
We collect the following categories of data:
- Technical details (e.g., mobile operating system and device model, app-instance identifiers, device identifiers such as IDFA when permitted, country and time zone)
- App usage patterns (e.g., pages and screens viewed, session duration, interaction flows, crash logs, and error reports)
- Performance and debugging information (e.g., feature usage, loading times, app responsiveness)
- Baby-related metadata — specifically, baby's age and gender, if provided by you. This information is collected in pseudonymized form and used only for improving our algorithms and personalization.
This data is collected through trusted third-party analytics providers, and is used solely to improve the app's functionality, relevance, and user experience. It is not used for advertising purposes and is never associated with your identity. We do not sell any personal or behavioral data to any third parties.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the Application: Ensuring the app functions correctly and reliably.
- To improve and personalize the Application: Understanding user behavior and preferences to enhance features, user experience, and the accuracy of our algorithms.
- For analytics and research: Performing data analysis to evaluate app usage, track errors, identify trends, and improve our algorithmic models over time.
- For in-app purchases: Supporting transactions within the Application.
Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR Specific)
For users in the European Union and the United Kingdom, we rely on the following legal bases for processing the pseudonymized data we collect:
- Consent: For using identifiers like IDFA for tracking purposes, we will seek your explicit consent. You can withdraw your consent at any time, though this will not affect the lawfulness of processing before your withdrawal.
- Legitimate Interests: For processing pseudonymized technical and usage data necessary for the proper functioning, security, and improvement of the Application, where our interests are not overridden by your data protection rights and interests.
- Contractual Necessity: The processing of on-device data (such as the baby's name and audio recordings) is necessary for the performance of the contract with you, specifically to provide the core functionality of the Application.
Disclosure of Your Information
We do not sell your personal data. We disclose the information we collect (pseudonymized data) only in the following situations:
1. Third-Party Service Providers:
The Application uses third-party services to enhance functionality, improve user experience, and analyze usage patterns. These services help optimize performance, track errors, and support in-app purchases. These third-party providers operate under their own Privacy Policies and Data Processing Agreements, which govern how they collect, process, and store data. They process data on our behalf as data processors.
For more details, please refer to the Privacy Policies and Data Processing Agreements of the third-party service providers currently used in the Application:
2. Legal Requirements and Protection of Our Rights:
We disclose the pseudonymized data we collect only if we have a good-faith belief that such disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request. This also includes cases where we believe it's necessary to identify, contact, or take legal action against individuals who may be violating this Privacy Policy or our terms of service, or to protect the safety and rights of our users and the general public.
International Data Transfers
Your pseudonymized data (the data we collect) may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence, including the United States, where some of our service providers' servers are located. These countries may have data protection laws that are different from those in your country.
For transfers of personal data from the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom, we ensure that such transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards as required by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR. These safeguards typically include the use of Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission, or reliance on the Data Privacy Framework (DPF) for transfers to certified U.S. entities, ensuring a level of data protection equivalent to that in the EEA/UK.
Children's Privacy
The Application is not directed to individuals under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect any personal information directly from children.
Any information related to a child (such as name, age, or gender) is provided voluntarily by the child's parent or caregiver solely for the purpose of using the Application. This data is either stored locally on the user's device (e.g., name) or, in the case of age and gender, may be collected in pseudonymized form to help improve the Application through analytics. No information is used to identify or profile individual children.
In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and similar laws, users must be at least 16 years old to use the Application in the European Union, the United Kingdom, and other applicable jurisdictions.
Data Retention Policy
We retain the pseudonymized personal data we collect only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, in accordance with applicable legal and operational requirements.
Specifically:
- Firebase Analytics Data: Data collected via Firebase Analytics, including your app-instance identifiers and associated usage metrics, is retained for a maximum of 14 months. After this period, the data is automatically deleted or aggregated so that it can no longer be linked to an individual app instance.
- Amplitude Analytics Data: Data collected via Amplitude, including pseudonymized metadata such as your baby's age and gender (if provided), is retained in accordance with Amplitude's data retention policies. This data is used exclusively for improving our algorithms, analytics, and overall app experience. You may request deletion of this data by contacting us at contact@babyreco.app.
- Locally Stored Data: Certain information such as your baby's name and audio recordings of crying is processed and stored exclusively on your device and is not collected by us. Therefore, this data is never transmitted to us and is not retained on our systems. Its retention is solely managed by you on your device, typically until you delete the app or the data directly from your device.
Your Data Protection Rights (EU and UK Residents)
If you are a resident of the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have specific rights regarding your personal data under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or equivalent UK law. Please note that these rights primarily apply to the pseudonymized data we collect and process on our servers. For data which is processed exclusively on your device, you can manage, modify, or delete this data directly within the Application or by deleting the Application from your device.
Your rights (for data we collect) include:
- Right to Access: You have the right to request copies of your personal data that we hold.
- Right to Rectification: You have the right to request that we correct any information you believe is inaccurate or complete information you believe is incomplete.
- Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): You have the right to request that we erase your personal data under certain conditions. For pseudonymized data, this might involve requesting deletion of your app instance data by deleting the application or contacting us. Please note our specific data retention periods outlined above.
- Right to Restrict Processing: You have the right to request that we restrict the processing of your personal data under certain conditions.
- Right to Object to Processing: You have the right to object to our processing of your personal data under certain conditions.
- Right to Data Portability: You have the right to request that we transfer the data that we have collected to another organization, or directly to you, under certain conditions.
- Right to Withdraw Consent: Where we rely on your consent to process your personal data, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at contact@babyreco.app. We may need to verify your identity before responding to such requests. Please note that deleting data we collect may affect certain features or the functionality of the Application.
California Residents' Privacy Rights
California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
- Right to know what personal information is collected.
- Right to delete personal information.
- Right to opt-out of sale of personal information (we do not sell any personal or behavioral data, including baby-related metadata).
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights.
To exercise these rights, contact us at contact@babyreco.app.
Security
Protecting user privacy and the security of your data is a top priority for us. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures, in line with industry best practices and data protection regulations such as the GDPR and CCPA, to safeguard the pseudonymized data we collect. Access to the data we collect is restricted to authorized personnel, contractors, agents, and third-party service providers who require it to operate, develop, maintain, support, or improve the Application. We use password protection, access logs, and system monitoring to help ensure confidentiality and security of the data we handle.
Data Deletion Requests
If you wish for your pseudonymized data associated with your app instance, which we collect, to be removed from our systems, please contact us at contact@babyreco.app.
Upon verifying your request (which may involve confirming your device or app-instance details to the extent possible with pseudonymized data), we will delete the relevant data within a reasonable timeframe, unless we are legally required or otherwise permitted to retain it. Please note that deleting data we collect may affect certain features or the functionality of the Application.
For data processed exclusively on your device, you can delete this data directly through the Application's features or by uninstalling the Application from your device.
